Due to the presence of Covid-19 infection, staffing levels have been temporarily affected at our customer support centre on January 5th 2022..

Due to emergency maintenance works, viewers will experience a complete loss of reception between 14:00 and 16:00 on 5th January 2022.

Receiving Saorview in NI border areas

If you live near the Northern Ireland border, you may be able to receive additional TV services via signal overspill, depending on location.

In the event that you want to receive additional services, you may need to install a second aerial. This is because of differences in transmitter signal characteristics and position.

Your local aerial installer will be able to help you get the correct setup for your home.

Christmas and New Year arrangements for customer support

The Saorview Customer Support centre will operate on a reduced schedule over Christmas and New Year 2020 as follows:

Thursday 24th December 10:00 - 18:00

Friday 25th December Closed

Saturday 26th to Monday 28th December 10:00 - 18:00

Thursday 31st December 2020 10:00-18:00

Friday 1st. January 2021 Closed

Saorview Connect software update November 2019

A software update has been released for the Saorview Connect box.

The new update software, version 0.20.20, addresses the following:

  • An issue where some users could not access TG4 Player.
  • Performance improvement in recording of present/following programmes on satellite.
  • Minor performance improvements and bug fixes.


If you own a Saorview Connect box that is connected to the internet, you may receive an overnight notification that this update is available. If you wish to download the upgrade immediately, go to Home > Settings > System settings > Software update > check for online software update, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update. Please do not operate the box or remove power during the update process.

Software upgrade to Saorview Plus+ PVR

A new software version for the Walker WP-6500 Saorview Plus+ recorder is now available for over-air download on Saorview.

This new version (V1.20) is intended to correct intermittent functioning of on-screen subtitling (occasional lack of punctuation in English and occasional lack of síneadh fada in Irish) and other housekeeping functions around hard drive content management.

The update download will occur automatically at 03:00 daily when the PVR is in standby mode. The download may be manually performed at any time by employing the following remote control selections….. Menu -> Setup -> Configuration -> Receiver upgrade -> OK -> Scan for upgrade - > OK. A search progress bar will be displayed on the lower Right Hand Side of the screen which will indicate the status of the download search and/or the download progress.
